Mumbai terrorist attack – 26 Nov. 2008

The entire day has been spent in front of the TV and watching in anguish and in anger the proceedings on the streets of Mumbai. I have been riveted to Times Now and to the incredible anchoring of Arnab. He has been at it non stop for almost 24 hrs; reporting, discussing, interviewing, taking opinion, tirelessly.
My pain has been the sight and plight of my innocent and vulnerable and completely insecure countrymen, facing the wrath of this terror attack. And my anger has been at the ineptitude of the authorities that have been ordained to look after us. I have simply loved and endorsed the sentiments expressed by one of those that came on for comments on the Arnab reportage, Suhel Seth. They were strong, precise and most apt. And of course I have had the greatest pride in those from the forces that have and continue to fight for our freedom. Brilliant officers and police personnel have laid down their lives for us. Have been watching television since yesterday and to see various locations in Mumbai turned into a war zone is shocking and heart breaking to say the least.
My heartfelt condolences to the families of persons killed and taken hostage. I was feeling sick in the stomach when the fire broke out at the Taj. What would the people caught inside be going through. The fire fighters were doing their best but my imagination was running wild and I was feeling helpless watching other people trapped in the rooms adjoining the fire.
My heartfelt condolences to the family of the brave officers of the Mumbai Police who lost their lives leading from the front to take on these terrorists. Especially Hemant Karkare of the ATS who in the recent past was being targeted by various political parties for the work that he was doing. When will these politicians realize and admit that terrorists HAVE NO RELIGION. Terrorists are not Hindu or Muslim or Christian. They are not people of religion or God. They are people who have gone totally sick in their head and have to be dealt with in that manner. Hemant Karkare is an example of a brave officer who gave his life in the line of duty.
At this moment I pray that the brave officers of the Mumbai Police, the Indian Army, Navy, the NSG and the various other security forces dealing with the situation are able to end this crisis as soon as possible…read more on Aamir Khan’s blog…

Ashutosh has been declared the winner of Bigg Boss 2008. The results were given out by the bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar on saturday 22 Nov. 2008.
Bollywood star Actor Akshay Kumar announced the winner in presence of the show’s host, Shilpa Shetty along with Raja Chaudhry, who became the first runner-up and model-actor Zulfi Syed, who was declared the second runner-up.
Ashutosh win the prize money of Rs 1 crore, against the remaining co-participants, Zulfi Syed and Raja Choudhary. Ashutosh was nominated for eviction by the housemates three times.
He is from small town of Saharanpur, in Uttar Pradesh where he runs a tiny dhaba. Life did a turn when Ashutosh won the fifth season of MTV’s adventure reality show, Roadies 5.0.
“Yeh meri jeet nahi hai. Yeh Rahul bhai aur Raja bhai ki jeet hai”, Kaushik dedicated his victory to Raja and Rahul.
